Selby School

The refurbishment of Selby SEN School required a highly sensitive and carefully managed approach to create an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for students with additional educational needs. Delivering works within a live school setting meant all activity had to be planned around daily routines, student wellbeing, and strict safeguarding requirements.

The project involved upgrading existing facilities, improving accessibility, and adapting internal spaces to better meet the needs of both students and staff. Particular attention was needed to minimise noise, disruption, and changes to familiar surroundings, ensuring the school could continue to operate effectively throughout the programme.

With tight timescales and the need to maintain a secure, clean, and fully functional learning environment, close collaboration with the client, school leadership team, and delivery partners was essential to successfully complete the refurbishment.
