The Challenge

The flagship store on Oxford Street required a complex HVAC installation within a highly constrained city centre environment. The project involved delivering a VRF system capable of simultaneous heating and cooling across sales and back-of-house areas, while working within restricted plant space that necessitated multiple heat recovery units. Ventilation systems were integrated with CO₂-based controls to optimise comfort and efficiency, alongside the installation of domestic water and drainage services to suit the revised layout. Tight space constraints, coordination with other trades, and a fast-paced programme made efficient planning and integration critical to success.

Our Solution

At Oxford Street, Hensall delivered a fully coordinated HVAC and building services solution tailored to the constraints of a flagship retail environment. A VRF system was installed to provide simultaneous heating and cooling across the sales floor and back-of-house areas, ensuring consistent comfort throughout.

Due to limited plant space, five heat recovery units were strategically integrated to deliver effective ventilation, all controlled via CO₂ sensors to optimise air quality and energy efficiency. Domestic water and above-ground drainage systems were also installed to suit the revised layout and support staff and public amenities.

Through careful design, coordination, and efficient use of space, Hensall successfully delivered a high-performance, energy-efficient solution within a fast-paced city centre fit-out.
